Overview

In the late 19th century, my ancestors in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, built timepieces under the name Nestor Delevaux. They worked within the établissage system, a network of specialized makers who each contributed to the final watch. This project builds on that history in a direct way. Using an original Delevaux wristwatch movement, I am designing and manufacturing a custom case so the watch can be worn again. The result connects several generations of work by preserving the original movement while giving it a new form. It is both a personal exploration of family history and a practical exercise in adapting an older mechanical system to a modern design.
